On Sunday, June 10, we celebrated Puerto Rican Day with our very own Puerto Rican Day Parade and festivities thanks to Mylyn LLanos, CNA and Rosalia Negron & family.

Two of our Residents, Francisca and Federico, born in Puerto Rico, were particularly honored during this celebration. Both wore banners with the name of the city draped over their shoulders as well as plenty of red, white and blue.

At the end of our parade, we all met in the hearth to hear Fernando Varela’s rendition of “En Mi Viejo San Juan y Preciosa” a song that has great meaning for the Puerto Rican people. Then we enjoyed Pastelitos and Florecita cookies prepared by Rosalia.

Happy Birthday Agnes!
