The Residents enjoyed a beautiful sunny day on September 21st when they traveled to Stewart Farms for some apple picking! A full bus made the hour-long trek out to Granite Springs where owners Betsy and Bob greeted us with open arms. Upon arrival, the Residents enjoyed a nice picnic lunch, complete with homemade apple-cider donuts from the farm bakery for dessert. After lunch, the Residents (with the help of some very strong wheelchair pushers) hiked up to the apple orchard. There they enjoyed watching the Sisters and employees pick enough apples to feed the entire Home! Many Residents commented on how wonderful the country life seemed to be with the beautiful views and quiet setting surrounding them. A great time was had by all as we headed back to the hustle and bustle of city life.
We are grateful to Bob and Betsy for their generosity to make this trip so special, especially for their donations of numerous baked goods and apples for our Home! Ryder has had some serious medical issues lately, but seems to be on the mend. Pray that all continues to go well for the little guy!
