On May 17th at 4 p.m., the daughter and son-in-law of one of our Residents, Carmeta Mills, renewed their marriage vows during an intimate ceremony at our home’s chapel on the occasion of their 20th wedding anniversary. Their 4 children were present to serve as: lector, altar server, ring bearer, and flower girl. To the delight of all, Mrs. Carey Federspeil was beautifully adorned with her original wedding gown. After the ceremony, Carey and Fred treated the Residents to a champagne toast and homemade wedding cake, and at our request agreed to dance together. Carey shared with us how the couple met and admitted that they have spent almost every day together since they first laid eyes on one another. Carmeta was so happy to be part of the event which she could also share with all her friends at Jeanne Jugan Residence. So were all of us!
