The Jeanne Jugan Award was established several years ago and is presented annually in our homes to a staff member chosen by her/his co-workers as best exemplifying the spirit of our foundress Saint Jeanne Jugan.
In October 2014 within the context of an appreciation party planned for all the staff, Cherryl Baybay was presented with this prestigious award. Cherryl, a nurse, embodies the gentle sensitivity of Jeanne Jugan and reflects her healing ability to listen, console and respect the elderly. Her kind and calm approach puts the elderly at ease, and her professional manner engenders confidence.
Cherryl loves and appreciates the charism of our Mother Foundress and each day brings a loving heart to all her professional responsibilities. These contributing factors play a large role in helping to “make the elderly happy” an essential aspect of the spirit of the Little Sisters.
Cherryl’s behavior reflects her understanding of the charism of St. Jeanne Jugan and her example is contagious. It’s for these reasons that Cheryl’s co-workers chose her to be the recipient of the 2014 Jeanne Jugan Award. Congratulations Cherryl!
